Providence Harvest Dash

 


The Race
Running shoes, sweatshirts and even Halloween costumes will be the uniform of the day during Providence Hood River's first annual Harvest Dash. The Harvest Dash will feature a challenging 10K, flat 5K and onemilewalk. It is offered in conjunction with the Hood River County Chamber’s Harvest Fest, one of the largest annual events in the Gorge.

2009 Race Results
Perfect weather and an amazing performance by kids in the race – overall winner was 16 year old Yonny Castillo (won the 10k), 14 year old Brad Rich overall 5k winner and 12 year old Fiona Wylde turned in a top performance in the women's field:

9:00 a.m. - 10K start time
9:15 a.m. - 5K and walk start time

Hood River Waterfront Event Site, Hood River, Ore.

10K Course
The 10K course begins at the Hood River waterfront with a significant incline through the Indian Creek Trail and a decline from the hospital back to the downtown area. The remainder of the route is flat asphalt and winds back to the waterfront.

5K Course
The 5K course is a flat asphalt/gravel route that takes runners along the waterfront and includes breathtaking views of Mt. Adams and the Columbia River.

Family Fun Walk
The family fun walk is a flat one-mile course along the Columbia River.

Costume Contest
Race participants are encouraged to wear their favorite costume. Prizes will be given for the best costume in the following divisions:
- Providence employee
- Individual (kids, teens and adults)
- Family
Registration
Registration is $25 and includes parking and entry into the Harvest Fest grounds and t-shirt. Free registration for kids 10 and under. Charges apply for Harvest Fest entry and t-shirt.
