Golfers Tee Up for Annual Bedpan Open
The bedpans are about to roll again! Teams and sponsors are already signing up for the Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital Foundation's 16th Bedpan Open Golf Tournament, set for Saturday, June 2 at Indian Creek Golf Course with a 1:00pm shotgun start. Winners each year have their names added to the highly prized Bedpan Open plaque.
During the last Open, golfers and sponsors contributed over $9,000 toward the hospital's "Faith in Action" Community Caregivers Program. This year, proceeds will benefit the hospital's expansion of In-Patient Rehabilitation for patients recovering from a disabling illness such as heart attack or stroke, or overcoming post-surgery physical problems.
Businesses, individuals and groups are invited to join the fun at $100 per person. Team fees are $400 and cover four player registrations, two golf carts, box lunch, dinner and golfers gift bag. Sponsors, to date, include Hood River Distillers, Best Western Hood River Inn, Providence Health Plans, Andersen Construction, Hood River Plumbing, and Hire Electric. The annual Hole-in-One prize is a brand-new car from Griffith Motors of The Dalles. A fun new offering this year is the "$100,000 Shootout," where four golfers, whose names will be drawn at random at the end of the tournament to take a shot at a $100,000 hole-in-one.
