HEALTH TALKS EXPLORE WOMEN'S HORMONAL CHANGES

10/1/07

The health topics women are dealing with often depend on what their hormones are doing. With this in mind, local gynecologists Robin Henson, MD and Elaine Adsit, MD, offer two talks this fall on women's hormone health.

If you are nearing menopause or "in it," plan to attend "Menopausal Women with Zest!". Scheduled for Thursday, Oct 11, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital Education Center, this free talk will explore the mysteries, myths and facts about menopause. Some of the evening's topics will include how menopause works, hormone replacements, osteoporosis, hot flashes, muscle tone, and heart health.

Younger women realize hormones don't exactly rule our lives, but they sure have a strong influence. In their talk titled, "Managing Your Hormones: PMS, Depression and More," Drs. Henson and Adsit will explain the function and place hormones have and what we can do to make sure they are working for us and not against us. This free talk is set for Thursday, November 8, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital Education Center.

Register for either talk at Community Education, 541-386-2055.
