Golfers Tee Up for Annual Bedpan Open

The bedpans are about to roll! Teams and sponsors are already signing up for the Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital Foundation's 15th Bedpan Open Golf Tournament, set for Saturday, May 13th at Indian Creek Golf Course. A continental breakfast and beverages will precede the 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Winners each year have their names added to the highly prized Bedpan Open plaque.

During the last Open, golfers and sponsors contributed over $9,000 toward the hospital's dental and braces program for Hood River County kids. This year, proceeds will benefit the hospital’s “Faith in Action” Community Caregivers Program.
 
Businesses, individuals and groups are invited to join the fun at $100 per person. Business sponsorships of $400 cover four player registrations, two golf carts with sponsor signs, continental breakfast, and a box lunch sponsored by Columbia River Bank. Other team sponsors, to date, include Hood River Distillers, Best Western Hood River Inn, Hood River Liquor, Hamada Orchards, Jim Clair/Hershner & Bell, Sprint, Health Net, and BCI. Added features this year are a “Beat the Pro” hole and putting contest. The annual Hole-in-One prize is a brand-new car from Cliff Smith Motors of Hood River. Other hard-won awards are donated by local area businesses, including Alice’s Orchard & Fruit Stand, China Gorge Restaurant, Van Metre Furniture, Yasui Orchards, E&L Auto Parts, and Cascade Central Credit Union, as well as many other businesses will be presented at a short end-of-tournament celebration.
