The Medical Staff
Your physician is responsible for directing and coordinating your care while you are in the hospital. He/She should be consulted if you have questions or concerns about your illness.
The Nursing Staff
24-hour nursing care is provided by a team of professional registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and nurse assistants. A nursing supervisor is responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care on each unit, as well as serving as your patient advocate. Please feel free to contact your nurse or the nursing supervisor if you have questions about any part of your care.
Chaplain Service
A trained volunteer chaplain is available to help you address the spiritual needs of your health, no matter what your religious tradition. He/she may stop by to say hello while you are in the hospital. Your nurse or the chaplain can contact your own clergy for you if you wish.
Social Workers
Social workers are trained and available to help patients and family members deal with financial, social, and emotional problems that relate to illness or hospitalization. They help deal with long-term illnesses and rehabilitation and are involved in discharge planning.
Housekeepers
Your room is cleaned daily by a member of the housekeeping staff. If you are asleep or away from your room when they come by, they will leave a card to let you know they were here. If there is a housekeeping problem in your room, tell your nurse, and it will be taken care of as soon as possible.
Volunteers
Volunteers contribute many hours of their time to support and supplement the services of the hospital staff. They can be identified by their pink name tags and pink or burgundy jackets.
Other Personnel
During your stay you may be visited by many other health care professionals, including laboratory and radiology staff, and physical or occupational therapists. In addition, the Hood River Memorial family includes many behind-the-scenes workers who contribute greatly toward your well-being while you are a patient in the hospital.
