Mission-Driven Programs
Providence Marianwood is the only not-for-profit skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility on the eastside of King County. We are committed to participating in programs and services that enhance our community, "with special concern for those who are poor and vulnerable." Part of our mission is to "strive to meet the health needs of people as they journey through life." Here are a few of the programs we sponsor, participate in and/or subsidize.

Bastyr's Naturopathic Health Care
Providence Marianwood is pleased to be a sponsor for Bastyr Naturopatic College's "community medicine network" program by providing a location for this wonderful service. The program offers alternative health care at no charge to Marianwood patients, residents, staff and the community at large. Everyone is welcome, as is any health issue large or small. All appointments are confidential. Patients are seen by a team of senior students and overseen by a naturopathic physician. (First appointments are 1 ½ hours. Follow-up appointments are 1 hour. Appointments are available by calling Marianwood at 425/391-2800.)
Visiting Students Program
Providence Marianwood is one of the few facilities that allow nursing programs to bring their students on-site to perform clinical studies. We provide meeting rooms and support the training process for Bellevue Community College, Renton Vocational, Lake Washington Tech and others. Residents benefit with the extra attention and interaction. Students often assist in the dining room, transporting residents and visiting with them.

Adult Day Care Program
We support the Eastside Adult Day Care (EADC) program by providing hot meals at reduced cost. EADC provides an important service to the community and is also a non-profit organization, and we appreciate an opportunity to support them in the good work of providing daily care for our elderly community members.
Communiversity
The Providence Point Retirement Community offers educational opportunities for their residents called "Communiversity." Providence Marianwood supports this program by arranging for speakers and providing auditorium space at our facility for these educational events.
Auxiliary
Marianwood has a very active Auxiliary group. The Auxiliary meets at Marianwood monthly and has two luncheons each year. The luncheon is prepared and provided by Marianwood. The luncheon includes a raffle and entertainment for all Auxiliary members. The Auxiliary assists in many events such as serving tea at Marianwood's Red Hat Teas, the Holiday Open House for the community, fundraisers during the holidays, and much more. Faith in Action
Marianwood supports the Faith in Action program by providing in-kind office space and equipment. The Faith in Action program strives to help people remain independent in their communities and maintain their sense of worth and dignity. A network of trained volunteers provide assistance to the vulnerable and elderly of Issaquah, the Sammamish Plateau and the Greater Snoqualmie Valley. For more information check out the Faith in Action website.
Community Involvement
Providence Marianwood is a member of the Issaquah and Sammamish Chambers of Commerce and the Issaquah Kiwanis Club. We sponsor events, such as free health fairs and many others.
Walkathons
Providence Marianwood proudly sponsors walkathon teams for the "Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk" and the "Relay for Life," which benefits the American Cancer Society. Teams of employees and families of residents participate each year. Fundraisers such as bake sales and root beer float sales are held at Marianwood to raise funds for registration fees and donations.
