Providence O'Christmas Trees
25th Anniversary Celebration
The evening was glamorous, festive, fun and successful.
Enthusiastic bidders at Providence O’Christmas Trees’ Gala Dinner & Auction celebrated the event’s 25th anniversary by helping to raise $1 million to support healthcare, housing and hospice provided by Providence Health & Service’s Senior and Community Services.
We didn’t make this happen alone.
It takes a multitude of people coming together collectively for a common need.
It takes people who have compassion for the 12,000 individuals we are privileged to serve each day.
It takes people who believe that everyone deserves to live with love, respect and dignity.
It takes you, our donors, our sponsors, our volunteers and this year’s record number of attendees who opened their hearts and wallets and made this year a success.
There are many words that we can use to describe our gratitude for your commitment to our mission, and these two words say it best - Thank you!
This year our designers took a no holds bared approach and created some of the most beautiful trees we have ever seen.
Sixteen trees were up for auction with themes like Fairy Christmas, The Tree of Life, and Fröhliche Weihnachten. Scott Ward, our 2009 Presenting Artist, created a winter wonderland – ‘AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT’ which was purchased by one of our sponsors and donated to Providence Marianwood.
UNDER THE BIG TOP – a circus themed tree under a big top tent sold for $40,000 and was quickly donated to Providence Mount St. Vincent. This tree was sponsored by US Bank and designed by Lisa Wise.
IT'S A PROVIDENCE CHRISTMAS CHARLIE BROWN had a depiction of Charlie Brown’s Christmas tree nestled in the boughs of the bigger Charlie Brown Christmas story and inspired voters at the Family Affair TreeView and the Silver Bells Luncheon to choose this tree for the People's Choice Award. The tree was sponsored by Helsell Fetterman and designed by Tony Harris. It was purchased at the auction and donated to Providence Elderplace.

The main stage featured KING-TV anchorman Dennis Bounds as master of ceremonies for his seventh year, Elisa Jaffe, KOMO-TV was Live from the Trees and Jeff Stokes and John Curley made an excellent team as auctioneers.
Although the three-day O’Christmas Trees celebration ended Dec. 2 after a public Treeview on Nov. 30 and the Silver Bells Luncheon on Dec. 1, the Providence Christmas Tree tradition continues throughout the holiday season with the Tour of Trees. Seven retailers throughout downtown Seattle are displaying elaborately decorated Providence O’Christmas Trees and invite the public to visit each of them. Participants who download a “passport” from www.providence.org/otrees “Tour of Trees” and have it stamped at each tree location have a chance to win a $1,000 gift certificate from Pacific Place.
