Providence Holy Cross: Building for the Future

Please Pardon Our Dust

While many hospitals have closed and others have made no move to increase capacity, Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in the process of expanding its campus with the addition of 136 new patient beds. The expansion will also include:

  • A new Women’s Pavilion featuring ten Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Post Partum suites and a wellborn nursery.
  • A 12-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to care for premature and high-risk babies.
  • A larger Gastroenterology Lab for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for digestive disorders.
  • Additional I.C.U. beds
  • A new pre- and post-operative surgery department.
  • 50 private patient rooms on two floors.
  • 10 semi-private rooms to accommodate emergency patients who require overnight observation.
  • A 100-seat chapel featuring sacred space for liturgies and private reflection.

The expansion project is “green” – it has been recognized by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Grand Building Rating System, which is the nationally recognized benchmark for environmentally-conscious design, construction and operation. Only three hospitals in the nation have received this certification. Providence Holy Cross will be the first in California.
