Half Gallon Club

In 1999, we instituted a special club to recognize those individuals who have shown a repeated commitment to giving; it was named the "1/2-gallon Club".

Members have to donate at least 4 units of Whole Blood or 12 units of Platelets during a calendar year in order to qualify.

In January of 2000, we held a special Recognition Breakfast, to further express our gratitude and also to allow each of the club members to meet. There were 125 donors who qualified for this very special group. In June of 1999, members who were half way towards their membership goal were given a special embroidered baseball cap, not available to regular donors. At the breakfast, there were given insulated lunch bags - again, available only to them.

Plans are underway for future events to recognize these special donors. The month of January is National Volunteer Blood Donor Month.
