Support Programs and Services

To assist patients, families and friends in coping with a variety of medical conditions and procedures, Providence offers a broad range of coordinated, compassionate medical care and education and support services for our patients and the loved ones who care for them.  These programs and services include:

For Cardiac Surgery Patients:
While surgery is often recommended as the most appropriate option to save a life or improve quality of life, for many, the idea of undergoing surgery may be unsettling.  Understanding what to expect from surgery may help to reduce the anxiety associated with a surgical procedure.  Therefore it is always a good idea to ask questions before and after your surgery.

Cardiac Patient Care Specialists
As integral members of the cardiovascular team, our cardiac patient care specialists assist in the coordination of care from preadmission, to hospitalization and discharge.  Patient care specialists act as liaisons between patient, family and physicians, and use their extensive experience in cardiac surgical patient care to provide the educational, clinical and emotional support essential for positive outcomes.
