MRI: New Applications, Improved Productivity and Amazing Image Quality
The new Magnetome Symphony 1.5T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system from Siemens incorporates the short bore magnet design for patient comfort. Every component in the imaging chain was optimized and integrated into a new SYNGO platform that provides unprecedented scanning speed and resolution for MRI applications.
This MRI platform is evolving with new technologies to further improve clinical productivity, image quality and upgradeability. Additionally, the short bore Magnetome is an open style MRI, making procedures more comfortable for patients who are claustrophobic.
Magnetome Symphony offers:
- Integrated panoramic array coils for neurovascular, spine, body and cardiac imaging
- Breakthrough imaging techniques to enhance your diagnostic options for stroke evaluation, peripheral vascular imaging, breast cancer staging and other clinical applications
- Between 25% and 75% improvement in contrast-to-noise ratio without time penalty
- Dramatically reduced sensitivity to patient motion
- Reduced sensitivity to magnetic susceptibility artifacts

Setting a New Standard in CT Diagnostic Imaging Technology
The Sensation-4 is a 4-channel, Multislice scanner (8 slices per second) and offers the ability to acquire volumetric data at high speed with superb spatial resolution. The Sensation-4 multi-slice technology dramatically improves the diagnostic efficacy of CT exams. This advanced imaging method involves the simultaneous acquisition of multiple data slices during a single rotation – increasing image resolution so smaller lesions can be detected. Sensation-4 represents the future of this technology by offering 8 slices - varying in widths from a half-millimeter to eight millimeters - during each rotation.
Sensation-4 offers diagnostic advantages that include:
- Better image quality
- Clearer anatomical visualization
- Improved soft tissue evaluation
- New applications with 3-D volume reconstruction
- More comprehensive diagnosis in less time
Besides improving clinical insight, Sensation-4 also provides a more comfortable patient experience. The high-speed scanning and accurate results ultimately offer your patients:
- Shorter exam times, which is ideal for injured or
ill patients
- Single breath-hold scanning
- Reduced x-ray exposure
- More rapid results to facilitate the treatment process
- A safe and cost-effective alternative to invasive and
diagnostic procedures
- Earlier detection of abnormalities that may not have
been seen by conventional CT
