Stroke is the third leading cause of death in the United States.
When a stroke occurs, a blood vessel in the brain becomes blocked or bursts, sometimes causing permanent brain damage or even death. However, prompt treatment and follow-up care may protect brain cells and help patients lead healthy, productive lives.
Providence Stroke Center is recognized by the American Stroke Association as participating in care processes and protocols consistent with national guidelines for best practice in stroke care. Our team of stroke experts include neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuoradiologists, rehabilitation specialists, nurses, and therapists. We provide 24 hour a day services to over 500 stroke patients per year. Patients are quickly diagnosed using state of the art technology. Blood flow can be restored to the brain using clot busting drugs and advanced technology to give the best chance for a complete recovery.
