Information Desk
Guild volunteers at the Information Desk inside the main entrance to the medical center welcome visitors and assist them in locating patient rooms or departments.
Visitors
Visiting hours are from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. All visitors should check at the Nurses Station before entering a patient's room and we ask that only two people visit at one time. A typical "get-well" visit should last about ten minutes. Visitors should leave the patient's room during the administration of drugs or treatments and should not visit at all if they have colds, sore throats, skin infections or any communicable disease. Visitation to Providence BirthPlace is permitted as desired by the patient at all hours.
Visits by children younger than 12 are discouraged and no children are permitted if a patient is in isolation. Visitors with children are asked to keep their children with them at all times.
A few cheerful flowers are always appreciated, but space does not permit large floral pieces or bouquets. Flowers and plants are not permitted in Critical Care or on 3-East Medical Oncology.
Visitors are always welcome to dine in the hospital's Emilie Café, located on the ground floor. Breakfast is served from 6:30 to 10:00 a.m., lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Coffee service and light snacks are available anytime.
Critical Care Unit Visitors
Critical Care Unit patients may have two members of the immediate family visit as conditions allow. Every visitor must have the permission of the nurse in charge of the patient. Visitors are asked to remember at all times there are patients nearby who require a quiet atmosphere for their recovery.
Vending Machines
Vending machines are located on the ground floor near the Pharmacy and in the Emilie Café so that snacks and beverages can be purchased at any hour.
