Spiritual Care

Spiritual care is integral to Providence's mission of compassionate care. The Clinical Chaplaincy team consists of professionals who have engaged in academic preparation and clinical training for this specialized ministry of healing. The team works closely with all caregivers to offer a supportive presence to those who are ill, disabled, aging, dying or in crisis.

The team offers holistic ministry assisting with spiritual, religious and emotional needs, as well as ethical concerns. Catholic priests and sisters, Protestant ministers, and lay chaplains of various faiths are available 24-hours a day to provide for the spiritual needs of patients and families.

A chaplain or nurse will be happy to contact a minister or rabbi of your choice to help you meet your spiritual needs. Our chaplains provide spiritual support to those in need regardless of religious preference and respect the faith preferences of patients and families.

Chapel

The chapel is located on the third floor and is open from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. daily. Patients and visitors are welcome at any time.

Nutritional Services

Our patients receive nutritious meals made fresh daily. Delicious homemade entrees are provided including many calorie and fat controlled choices. Depending on your circumstances, your physician may prescribe a special diet as part of your nutritional therapy. A registered dietitian will assess your needs and help you understand your diet and how to gain the most benefit from it. To consult a dietitian on an outpatient basis after you leave the hospital, call 732-5053.
