A Message From The CEO

Working Towards a Common Mission
When asked what I believe is the single most important aspect of working for Providence, the answer is simple. It's being involved in an organization with a Mission I believe in unconditionally; it's the understanding that everyone involved with Providence holds the same level of commitment to its Mission.

This is rare in today's world, where the confluence of faith, profession and civic duty come together and are equally served. Being Mission-focused eliminates conflict, allowing the organization to work towards a singular goal of serving the greater good. I can truly say that working for Providence makes one a better person - more focused on what is important in life and taking action to make a positive change.

It is this singularity of purpose that has enabled Providence to grow and thrive for 150 years. Few of us can point to anything in our lives, outside of family, that equals such a history. We can all participate in this legacy through our involvement with Providence and our programs that support the community.

Tom Hanenburg was officially Missioned as Chief Executive on November 1, 2007. During a formal ceremony the Chief Executive accepts the responsibility of upholding the mission of the Sisters of Providence through service to staff, board, and community in promoting health, providing compassion, and equitable and quality care to those in need.
