Important points to consider:

  • Does not apply directly to women who have had a hysterectomy.
  • Did not study other progesterones or estrogens.
  • It did not assess quality-of-life issues.
  • Main new finding is effect on cardiovascular disease.
  • Decisions must be individualized – requires one-on-one discussion with physician.
