Longtime Providence Foundation Director Leaves Southern Oregon
4/22/08
Providence Community Health Foundation Director Susan Toner will be leaving Providence Medford Medical Center (PMMC) in May. She has accepted a position with Baystate Health in Springfield, MA as Vice President of Development and Executive Director of Foundations. "Susan has been instrumental in developing our Foundation and its governing board," says Tom Hanenburg, Chief Executive of PMMC. "She has established a culture of philanthropy both within our organization and extending out to the larger Medford community."
During her five and a half years at Providence, Toner has helped raise over $13 million for critical projects important to the medical center and the community. Standout projects include the Leila J. Eisenstein Breast Center and the Sister Therese Kohles Fund for Charitable Mammography, expansion and remodel of Providence BirthPlace, Cardiac PACS, High Dose Rate Brachytherapy and the da Vinci Robotic Surgery System. "Providence Medford Medical Center has provided a remarkable career experience for me," says Toner. "With the help of my leadership team, staff, Board of Directors and a very generous community, the Providence Foundation has enjoyed tremendous success and I am grateful beyond measure."
Baystate Health is comprised of two medical centers, two hospitals, three hospices, a physician group, a health plan, and five foundations. Toner's last day at Providence will be May 19.
