Heart Watch: View Open Heart Surgery Broadcast "LIVE"
from the Providence St. Vincent Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Program Details:
In Portland: Cardiac Surgeon Storm Floten, M.D. will perform open-heart surgery, while Cardiac Surgeon Albert Starr, M.D. facilitates the discussion from the auditorium. Dr. Starr is Medical Director of Providence Heart and Vascular Institute and Director of Bioscience, Research and Development for Providence Health & Services.

An audio feed into the auditorium will enable students to talk with Dr Floten in the operating room during surgery.

In Medford:
You will see the live telecast of what is happening in the CVOR. Prior to the surgery, Dr. Starr will present the case, reviewing the patient's history and the anticipated outcome. He will introduce staff in the CVOR and their role in the surgery.

Once Dr. Floten begins the surgery, a facilitator from Providence Medford Medical Center's Heart Program will be present to answer your questions. Additionally, Medford participants can email their questions to Dr. Starr in the Portland auditorium, who will relay the questions to Dr. Floten in the CVOR.
