MEDFORD, Ore (10/15/05) -- Providence Playland is an exciting new addition to the Rogue Valley Mall that encourages children to play creatively. A grand opening celebration of Providence Playland will be held for the community on Saturday, October 22 from 11am – 2pm in the lower level courtyard near the entrance to JC Penney.
The 856 square foot soft-wall play area was designed with Oregon in mind, featuring a forest theme, with tunnels, mountains, a big black bear and a slide for toddlers that looks like a waterfall. The set includes interactive puzzles and features a hand painted carpet that enhances the outdoor theme. “We are very excited to add the play area experience in the mall, and to have Providence Medford Medical Center as our partner,” said Jill Ditty, Group Marketing Manager for General Growth Properties, the owner of the mall. “The soft play area will give children a place to run, climb and play while parents and grandparents can rest from a day of shopping. It is a win for the whole family!”
“Our involvement with the play area is a wonderful opportunity for Providence to reinforce its commitment to this community,” says Kathryn Bazylewicz, Marketing Director for Providence Medford Medical Center. “Health care services for women and children are a priority for us, and Providence Playland helps us share that message.”
The grand opening celebration includes fun activities for children, a free “Scrub Bear” stuffed animal for the first 500 children, and other fun gifts. For parents, they can “Ask the Pediatrician” about childhood allergies, asthma and immunizations.
