MEDFORD, Ore (03/10/06) -- Providence Health System – Oregon Region has been named one of the Top 100 large employers to work for in the state by Oregon Business magazine. More than 29,000 employees from 260 private, public, nonprofit and government businesses participated in the statewide survey, answering questions about employer benefits, work environment, career development and decision-making.
“As part of Providence Health System, I am pleased that Providence Medford Medical Center and Providence Medical Group have achieved this distinction,” says Tom Hanenburg, Chief Executive of Providence Southern Oregon Service Area. “Not only for the recognition to our facility, but because it demonstrates our commitment to our employees.”
Providence ranked 41 out of 50 large companies surveyed. This is the tenth year out of ten surveys that PHS-Oregon Region has achieved the magazine’s Top 100 status PHS – Oregon Region also has been recognized by Verispan as a “100 Most Integrated Healthcare Network” in the nation. The fourth place ranking in the United States was published in Modern Healthcare magazine.
This is the sixth time PHS – Oregon has been in the top ten rankings by Verispan. The agency surveys nearly 600 health systems nationwide compiling information on integrated technology, outpatient and hospital utilization, financial stability, physicians, service and access.
