Women undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment for cancer can receive free professional help to cosmetically disguise the appearance-related side effects of their treatments.
Look Good... Feel Better, trains volunteer cosmetologists to help women with cancer conceal loss of hair, skin problems, and other side effects that can result from cancer therapy.
Providence Cancer Center partnered with the American Cancer Society, Dubs Cancer Center and Hidden Springs Wellness Center in Ashland to provide this worthwhile patient service. Volunteer cosmetologists teach women how to cope with skin change and hair loss using cosmetics and skin care products donated by the cosmetic industry. The free cosmetic kits provided at these group sessions are available in light, medium, dark and extra dark shades for all complexion types. Women also learn how to disguise hair loss with wigs, scarves and other accessories.
Look Good... Feel Better meetings at Providence take place the third Monday of each month.
Women who are interested in the program should call 541-779-6092.
