Visitor Guidelines & Phone Inquiries

The Critical Care Staff at Providence Medford Medical Center understands that this is a difficult experience for you and your loved one. The following guidelines will help ensure the best care:

  • Please ask the patient care nurse any questions or share any concerns that you may have. As a health care team, we are here to help meet your needs and the needs of your loved one as completely as possible.
  • Information regarding the patient’s condition may be obtained by calling the Critical Care Unit at 541-732-5062. Please select one family member to make the call and to relay the information to others. This will allow nursing staff more time with the patient and keep family members informed.
  • The best times to call are:

5:00-5:30 am
9:00-11:00 am
1:00-3:00 pm
5:00-7:00 pm
9:00-11:00 pm

Please avoid all calls between 7:00-8:30 am and 7:00-8:30 pm, as these are particularly busy times for the primary nurse.

  • If your spokesperson is unavailable, you may call for a basic condition report.
  • The entrance to the Critical Care Unit is protected to respect the privacy of our patients. Please inquire at the intercom before each visit.
  • Family members often spend long hours in CCU. The family waiting area, microwave and refrigerator are here for your convenience. In consideration of other families, we would appreciate your effort to keep the area clean.

We try to provide a quiet and restful environment in our waiting areas. Please be considerate and respectful to other visitors. Thank you for your cooperation. We appreciate comments and feedback to best serve you and your family.
