Providence Diabetes Learning Center's staff of highly skilled educators will help you learn how to control your diabetes and avoid its complications. Services · Group classes are offered during the day and evening · Individual consultations · Gestational diabetes lifestyle education · Pre-diabetes management · Support groups Living with Diabetes Classes Living with Diabetes is a series of four 2-1/2 hour group classes designed to cover the basic elements of diabetes management including: · Diabetes: what it is and how it affects you · Home glucose monitoring and testing · Exercise · Diabetes medications · Diabetic meal planning · Psycho/social aspects of coping with diabetes · Diabetic foot care · How to prevent complications Classes are taught by a team of certified diabetes educators, licensed nurses, and dietitians. Evening and daytime classes are available. We recommend attending these classes every five years. Individual Consultations We can meet specialized needs with individual education sessions planned according to your schedule and limits of insurance coverage.
