Outpatient Services

Emergency Care
Round-the-clock emergency medical services are provided by full-time physicians and nurses specially trained in emergency and trauma care. Providence provides comprehensive level II trauma care and has full-service support by other hospital departments. Trauma, cardiac and acute medical services are supported with the latest in equipment. Providence Medford Medical Center has a helipad to receive patients and our staff are in constant radio contact with ground and air ambulances.

Outpatient Center
The Providence Outpatient Center features a full-service outpatient facility directed to the needs and convenience of patients and their families, and designed for the convenience of patients and doctors. All support services are on one floor. Ample parking facilities are close to the entrance. Among its many services are cardiac catheterization, CT scanning, laboratory, mammography, pain clinic, radiology, and outpatient surgery and recovery.

Short Stay
Whether they are having surgery, a special procedure, or a medical treatment, patients in Providence's Short Stay Unit enjoy a relaxed, home-like environment that soothes many of the anxieties normally associated with a hospital setting, thus helping patients return to the community in the best condition of health possible and at less cost. And with rare exception, it is done without the need for overnight hospitalization.

Lithotripsy
Lithotripsy is a non-surgical procedure for the treatment of kidney stones that uses high pressure energy waves to dissolve kidney stones so they can pass naturally. This procedure significantly reduces both recovery time and medical expense.

Rehabilitation Programs and Services
Medical rehabilitation programs for outpatients include physical and occupational therapies, communication disorders, vestibular and balance programs, a cognitive program for traumatic brain injury, and aquatics therapy classes. An orthopedic outpatient program for physical, hand therapy, and occupational medicine offers state-of-the-art services to meet any muscle, bone or joint injury.

Our comprehensive outpatient programs complement our accredited inpatient unit:
