Hospitalist Services - A Patient & Family Guide

The Apogee Hospitalist program at Providence Medford provides many benefits.

 For You
Having more than one doctor on-site at all times means we are never more than a few minutes away. In case of an emergency or change in your condition, you can be assured a doctor will respond quickly. Our team of physician hospitalists assist you through a smooth recovery process by following up on tests, adjusting your treatment needs and coordinating all aspects of your hospital care to get you back home quickly.

For Your Family
Our hospitalists are here to provide answers in person whenever possible. During critical and stressful moments, they provide honest and considerate answers to your questions. Our doctors are always on-site, making them more available to consult with you and your family.

What is a Hospitalist?
A hospitalist specializes in internal medicine and takes care of hospitalized patients. They have nopatient care responsibilities outside the hospital, so they can focus exclusively on you while you are hospitalized. At PMMC, our hospitalists are part of a specialty practice called Apogee Physicians. Care is provided 24/7 by a team of board certified, dedicated physicians who work together to coordinate your care.

How Does The Hospitalist Communicate With Your Doctor?
At the time of admission to PMMC, your doctor contacts the hospitalists to discuss your condition and treatment needs. Additionally, your doctor will forward copies of office records to provide information about your health. Throughout your stay, the hospitalist will communicate with your doctor.
