
Providence Driver Evaluation Program helps individuals maintain driving independence, while promoting a safe driving environment. Each individualized driver evaluation is designed to measure a person's ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
The program is valuable for individuals, family members and physicians to help determine an individual’s ability to drive by providing a measurable and objective evaluation that includes: - Vision screening
- Reaction time analysis
- Perceptual motor abilities
- Cognitive skills
- Decision-making ability
- Upper and lower extremity range-of-motion and strength
Tests are administered by Providence occupational therapists. An objective, written summary of test results are provided to the referring physician, with possible recommendations to help improve driving skills.
Who Can Benefit From an Evaluation? May include, but not limited to people with: - Stroke, brain injury or orthopedic injury
