Classes for personal care attendants and family caregivers

Providence Senior Services offers aseries of caregiver classes tailored specifically for the personal care attendant and family caregiver.
Powerful Tools for Caregiving
A six-week series that meets for 2.5 hours each week. Classes are held in Jackson and Josephine Counties. Designed for the family caregiver, this class will help you take care of yourself while caring for a family member or friend. You will learn to reduce stress, communicate effectively, set goals, problem-solve and reduce the guilt-anger-depression emotional cycle.

Hands-On Caregiver Training
A 3-day course. A practical, hands-on class for basic-level skills. Topics include back health, safe transfers, infection control, nutrition and hydration, skin care, equipment and supplies and medication assistance.

A monthly 2-hour class. A variety of informative topics are offered. Class schedule and topics change annually.
