DETAILS:
The works of Berle Bledsoe line the halls of the Providence Gallery at Providence St.Vincent. Bledsoe is a self-taught artist, who has been painting seriously for the past ten years. He works from photographs of both people and animals; his works allow the viewer to take a look at real subjects and to look beyond the superficial, into the inner beauty of the subject.
Bledsoe’s work has been shown at the Art Splash in Tualatin and at shows sponsored by the Spectrum of the Arts. He also exhibits regularly at the Lake Area Artists show and the Lake Oswego festival of the Arts.
The Providence Gallery exhibit is located in the main tower, second floor hallway. Artwork is changed quarterly to showcase the creativity and culture of mature adults from Washington County and to emphasize the importance of art in healing. The art exhibit is a collaboration between the Providence Center on Aging, Providence St. Vincent Medical Center and the Beaverton Arts Commission.
Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, Providence Health & Services’s largest Oregon hospital, is renowned for its many centers of excellence, including Providence Heart and Vascular Institute, Oregon Medical Laser Center, Providence Multiple Sclerosis Center, Providence Stroke Center and Providence Center For Health Care Ethics, among others. Its maternity services are highly regarded throughout Oregon, with about 1 in 8 babies born each year at Providence St. Vincent, more than any other medical facility in the state.
