Jan. 21, 2009

WHAT: Blessing Ceremony Marks Opening of The Surgery Center at Tanasbourne Providence Tanasbourne
Health Center offers more convenient health care options to residents of Washington County.

WHEN: 3 p.m., Friday, Jan. 23

WHERE: Providence Tanasbourne Health Center
18530 N.W. Cornell Road, Hillsboro

DETAILS: From day surgery procedures to urgent care needs, Providence Tanasbourne Health Center Campus is ready to serve the needs of people living in Washington County.

A blessing ceremony will celebrate the completion of a three-story, 70,000-square-foot building on the Providence Tanasbourne Health Center Campus. This new building will offer medical office space for specialists and expand outpatient services on this campus. It includes a 17,000-square-foot ambulatory surgery center that is a joint venture between Providence Health & Services and individual physicians. The Surgery Center at Tanasbourne, LLC, will offer a variety of outpatient procedures that at one time were only performed in a hospital setting – including surgery for orthopedics, gynecology, general surgery and gastrointestinal procedures.

The Surgery Center at Tanasbourne is state-of-the-art, with four operating rooms and two procedure rooms. “We worked diligently to design the center so that it offers top-notch services in a warm and inviting setting,” said Cindy Givens, executive director of The Surgery Center at Tanasbourne.

The Surgery Center compliments the services already offered at the Providence Tanasbourne Health Center campus, including: Providence Medical Group primary and immediate care; the Center for Medical Imaging, LLC; laboratory services, and Providence Rehabilitation Services and Occupational Health. “The addition of the surgical center demonstrates Providence’s commitment to delivering affordable health care to communities throughout the Portland area,” said Miriam Odermann, chief executive of Providence Ambulatory Services.

This is one of two Providence Health Centers serving the Portland metro area. The Providence Bridgeport Health Center in Tualatin opened last year. “For more information, visit www.providence.org/healthcenters.
