WHAT: Sister of Providence Karin DuFault, R.N., Ph.D. will lead “Palliative Care: Caring of the Chronically or Terminally Ill,” a free lecture presented by the Providence Benedictine Nursing Center Foundation in Mt. Angel, Ore.

DETAILS: Designed for caregivers and family members of people with chronic and terminal conditions for whom there is no cure, the lecture will focus on ways family members and other caregivers can relieve suffering, provide comfort and generally improve a patient’s quality of life.
Sister Karin Dufault, a member of the Sisters of Providence religious community, has served as executive director of the Supportive Care Coalition: Pursuing Excellence in Palliative Care since October, 2005. Headquartered in Portland, Ore., the coalition is sponsored by 20 Catholic health organizations located throughout the country to advance excellence in the care of persons with life-threatening illness through knowledge transfer, advocacy and partnerships.
