Kells Irish Pub “Ceiling Sweep” to Benefit Providence Child Center

Feb. 18, 2009

WHAT: It may be raining cats and dogs outside – but inside Kells Irish Restaurant and Pub it will be raining coins and dollars during an event that benefits the Center for Medically Fragile Children at Providence Child Center.

WHEN: 9 a.m.
Tuesday, March 3, 2009

WHERE: Kells Irish Restaurant & Pub
112 SW 2nd Ave., Portland
503-227-4057

DETAILS: The generous customers of Kells have been tossing up a bit o’ green throughout the year, and a little bit of Irish magic keeps the bills and coins on the ceiling until they are swept off before St. Patrick’s Day.

Children, staff and volunteers from the Center for Medically Fragile Children will be on hand (with umbrellas) to watch this annual event. The center is the only pediatric residential facility in the Northwest providing 24-hour skilled nursing care for children with profound disabilities and complex medical needs.

Kells will generously match the donations from the ceiling sweep. The event kicks off the Portland St. Patrick's Irish Festival, held Mar. 13 -17.
