Healthy Kids/“Niños Sanos”: Providence Offers Free Nutrition Classes in Spanish

Providence Portland Medical Center’s Parish Health Outreach Program, in collaboration with OSU Extension Service, is offering a series of free cooking classes. Classes are for children, ages 5 to 12 and will be taught in Spanish. Children will learn about good nutrition, the concepts behind the food pyramid, and the importance of eating fruits and vegetables while they learn to prepare easy and tasty recipes.

WHEN: 2 to 4 p.m.  Tuesday through Thursday, August 7 - 9

DETAILS: This series of free nutrition classes is taught in Spanish to children ages 5 to 12 years old. These classes are sponsored by the Providence Portland Medical Center Parish Health Promoter program, the Oregon State University Extension Service Food & Nutrition Program and El Programa Hispano of Catholic Charities.
