May 14, 2009

WHAT: The innermost beauty of flowers comes alive in a macro photography exhibit by Laura Rambo at the Providence Milwaukie Community Gallery.

WHEN: On display through July 9
6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

WHERE: Providence Milwaukie Community Gallery
Providence Milwaukie Hospital
10150 S.E. 32nd Ave., 2nd Floor

DETAILS: Providence Milwaukie Community Gallery welcomes an exhibit of macro photography by Oregon City resident Laura Rambo. Always an avid gardener, Rambo began photographing flowers in 2007 as as therapy. Her friends’ encouragement led her to join the local art guild – this is her first full exhibit. Laura grows the flowers, processes her photos digitally and does her own printing, matting and framing.

“As I look through the camera lens it is easy for me to get lost in the intimate details of the flowers, they are so compelling,” says Rambo. “They give me a sense of peace and time stands still. My hope is that, as you view my work, you also will travel to a place of healing and peace.”

Providence Milwaukie Hospital recognizes that art can help to soothe and nourish the human spirit. Providence is pleased to showcase the work of our community’s diverse and talented artists in the Providence Milwaukie Community Gallery as a demonstration of that belief. All proceeds from sales go directly to the exhibiting artist. The gallery is curated by the Clackamas County Arts Alliance.
