Providence Tanasbourne Health Center Expanding to Offer More Services
Dec. 17, 2007
PORTLAND, Ore. – With a goal of bringing more services to people living in the neighborhoods of Aloha, Hillsboro and the surrounding Washington County area, Providence Health & Services is expanding the campus of its Tanasbourne Health Center.
Construction crews are currently working on a new three-story, 80,000-square-foot building on the campus located on Northwest 185th Avenue. It will offer a variety of outpatient procedures that at one time were only performed in a hospital setting – including day surgery for orthopedics, gynecology and some general surgery. The new building will also provide expanded office space for primary and specialty care providers.
During construction, patients still have access to all services previously offered at Tanasbourne Health Center, including Providence Medical Group – Tanasbourne’s family medicine and immediate care clinics, The Center for Medical Imaging, rehabilitation services, occupational health, and laboratory services.
This is the second Providence Health Center to be built in the Portland-metro area. The Providence Bridgeport Health Center in Tualatin is set to open in mid-2008. The health centers address a growing trend in consumer needs. “The way people prefer to receive care has changed in the past decade,” said Miriam Odermann, ambulatory services administrator. “People are asking for more convenient access to services such as day surgery. Our goal is to bring health care services into the communities we serve. That way we can build relationships long before people arrive in our hospitals as patients.”
The expanded Tanasbourne Health Center is scheduled to open in early 2009.
