WHAT: Providence Heart and Vascular Institute offers the first in a series of Heart Healthy for Life Lectures: Food Myth Busters – Good Nutrition for a Heart-Healthy Life.
WHEN: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7
WHERE: Providence St. Vincent Medical Center Souther Auditorium 9205 SW Barnes Road, Portland
DETAILS: A new British study found that people with four healthy lifestyle behaviors – not smoking, physical activity, moderate alcohol consumption, and eating five servings of fruit and vegetables a day – live an average of 14 years longer than people with none of these behaviors.
Miles Hassell, M.D., Providence Integrative Medicine medical director, has long advocated those lifestyle behaviors with his patients. As the presenter of the first Heart Health for Life Lecture of 2008, Dr. Hassell will speak on Food Myth Busters: Good Nutrition for a Heart-Healthy Life. Dr. Hassell will provide information on what to eat, what to avoid and how to balance nutrition as he shares his no-nonsense nutrition approach to long-term heart-health.
The Heart Health for Life Lecture is free, but registration is requested. Please call 503-574-6595 for details and to register.
