Providence St. Vincent Medical Center Names New Foundation Executive Director

Feb. 20, 2008

PORTLAND, Ore. – Dick Clark is the new executive director for Providence St. Vincent Medical Center Foundation. He began his new role Feb. 18.

Clark has been with Providence Health & Services for more than four years, beginning as development director for the Providence Cancer Center. In 2005, he was named director for the Providence Together Campaign, which was charged with raising $74 million for Providence’s four centers of excellence: Providence Cancer Center, Providence Heart and Vascular Institute, Providence Brain Institute and the Center for Medically Fragile Children at Providence Child Center. To date the campaign has secured more than $62 million in financial commitments. Clark will continue to serve as the director of the Providence Together Campaign in addition to taking on his new leadership role.

At Providence St. Vincent, Clark will lead fundraising and awareness campaigns for the medical center. “I am honored to join the outstanding team of physicians, administrators and health care professionals at Providence St. Vincent who are so committed to serving the greater community,” said Clark.

Providence St. Vincent is a tertiary hospital located in west Portland, in Washington County. It has 523 licensed beds. Last year 6,600 babies were born at Providence St. Vincent, nearly 42,000 patients were admitted to the hospital and 82,000 patients were served in the emergency department.

Prior to joining PH&S, Clark worked at the Portland Rose Festival Association, including 10 years as the executive director. He currently serves as the volunteer president of the Rotary Club of Portland.
