Gately Academy, a part of Providence Youth Services, is offering a new series of Gately Summer Academy/Camps. These camps offer a unique, multi-sensory setting for students, entering fourth to sixth grade, who demonstrate learning challenges such as ADD, AD/HD and other learning differences. Gately Art Therapy Camp This camp teaches art techniques through a variety of materials and themes while helping campers to build frustration tolerance skills. Campers benefit from a hands-on, process-based approach led by a trained art therapist. Camp projects are specifically designed to help students with AD/HD and other learning challenges. Ages: 9 to 12. Fee: $95/week. June 25 to Aug., 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. or noon to 2:30 p.m.
Gately Reading and Writing Camp This camp provides six weeks of fun and learning, with a focus on reading fluency, comprehension, and the writing process. The program includes individual student assessment and a comprehensive written report at the completion of the session. Ages: 9 to 12. Fee: $500/six weeks. June 25 to Aug. 2, 9 to 11:30 a.m. or noon to 2:30 p.m.
Gately Youth Services, a part of Providence Health & Services, provides services for children and adolescents with special needs and includes Gately Child and Adolescent Day Treatment, Gately Summer Day Camp and Gately Academy, a private middle school serving students who have learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder and/or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
