DETAILS: The Providence Milwaukie Hospital Gallery welcomes back Wilsonville artist Don McVay, who first displayed his works in the gallery in 2004. His collection of Pacific Northwest photography was very popular and Providence is thrilled to exhibit some familiar and new pieces. A retired banker, Don has been interested in photography since high school. “I primarily photograph Oregon scenery, but also do wildlife, floral and action - primarily rodeo,” says Don.
“I still use film – I haven’t been lured to the new digital cameras,” says Don. “I find that film provides better quality pictures for framing, unless you have very high megapixel equipment.”
Don is a man of many talents as he also makes all the frames for his larger pictures, and enjoys candy making, especially truffles.
The Providence Milwaukie Hospital Gallery exhibit changes quarterly to showcase the creativity and culture of the older adults of Clackamas County and to emphasize the importance of art therapy in the healing process. The art exhibit is a collaboration between Providence Milwaukie Hospital, and the Arts Action Alliance of Clackamas County.
