Breastfeeding Preparation
This class will help prepare you for the first few weeks of breastfeeding. Learn about maintaining a good milk supply, positioning your baby to avoid soreness, solving common problems and answers to frequent questions. Partners are encouraged to attend class. Fee: $39/couple. Providence Health Plans members: $35.

Childbirth Preparation Class
This four-week class series, held one night a week, helps first-time parents prepare for a more comfortable labor and delivery. It provides a combination of lecture, active practice and group discussion to give new parents the confidence needed to welcome their new baby to the world. Fee: $85/couple. Providence Health Plans members: $25.
Note: It is recommended to select a class that will begin two months prior to the baby’s due date, and will end about two to three weeks before the date.Please try to do so by the fifth month of pregnancy.

Childbirth Refresher Course
This course is for parents who have previously taken a childbirth preparation class. We will review medications, techniques for breathing and relaxation as well as birthing options. One 4-hour session. Fee: $55. Providence Health Plans members: $45.

Big Brother & Sister-To-Be
This special sibling class for children ages 3 to 6 helps to prepare them for their new role as a big brother or sister. Parents must be present at class with their child. Pricing is per family (Two adults and one child). Please note if you are bringing more than one child, each additional child is $5. Infant CPR
This class for parents and family members of infants will address issues specific to infant CPR. Learn how to perform rescue breathing, CPR and choking maneuvers for infants 1-12 months and children 1-8 years old upon request. This is a non-certifying course. Maternity Orientation
This class will help to familiarize you, and your partner/spouse with the Maternity Unit, answer any questions you may have, and help you feel more comfortable navigating the hospital prior to labor and delivery. Children ages 6 and older are welcome in class. Fee: free.

Parenting Toddler Series: Ages 1-3
This class is designed to help you feel more confident as a parent. A specific age related track allows facilitated discussions to help you gain new parenting skills and resources. This 4-week series will focus on child development, setting realistic expectations and managing challenging behavior through setting limits and logical consequences. This class is designed for parents, no childcare available. Fee: $86/couple. Providence Health Plans members: $82.

Providence St. Vincent New Mom’s Group
New moms who have given birth at any Providence Health & Services facility can spend time with each other in this informal discussion group. This will discuss topics such as expectation and realities in mothering, growth and development of infants, safety, and playing with baby. Babies up to 6 months old are welcome in class. Groups are held on Fee: Free for anyone who delivered at a Providence Health & Services hospital.

Weekend Childbirth Seminar
This seminar is for expectant parents who don't have time for a four-week course. Gain valuable information about labor and delivery, labor support, comfort measures and relaxation techniques.
