Emergencies: Being Prepared

Overview

When an emergency occurs, it helps to be prepared and, as much as possible, to know what to expect. This site provides basic, helpful information about ways to prepare for and respond to urgent situations and emergencies of all types – from winter weather to natural disasters.

Basic Emergency Preparedness

Weather-Related Information and Closures

  • Preparing for storms (American Red Cross)
  • Weather.com
  • Winter driving tips (Oregon Department of Transportation)
  • Tri-Met trip planner
  • TripCheck (Oregon Department of Transportation) — Get current road conditions.
  • Portland-area Providence hospitals — Find visitor information and more. All three Portland-area hospitals remain open during weather-related events.
  • Clinics — Access our online directory of Providence Medical Group (PMG) clinics and contact information. Doctor’s office hours are subject to change during severe weather conditions. If you have an appointment at a PMG clinic, please contact the clinic directly.
