Dr. Arun

Shikha Arun, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

“My philosophy is to care for my patients just as I would for my family,” says Dr. Arun. “To do that, establishing trust and spending time with my patients is important.” She sees herself as a coach of sorts, helping her patients get all the information they need to make well-informed health care decisions. “My goal is to remain current, thorough, diligent and empathetic to my patients’ needs.”

Dr. Arun believes it is important to have a balanced life. “I love medicine,and I love my outside interests, as well,” she says. Those interests include spending time with her family and friends, listening to music, reading fiction,going to the movies and directing and acting in theater performances.

Dr. Arun earned her medical degree at King Georges Medical College in India. She completed her internship and residency at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center.She is board certified in internal medicine.

Dr. Brown

Jay Brown , M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

Dr. Brown believes that listening to his patients is his most important responsibility as a primary care provider. “I always tell my patients not to be afraid to say what's on their mind,” he says. “It's important to me to earn their respect.”

A board certified internist, Dr. Brown earned his medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University. He completed his internship and residency at Norwalk Hospital, an affiliate of Yale University in Connecticut, and was chief resident in his last year.

In his practice, Dr. Brown emphasizes preventative health maintenance. When an illness or injury occurs, he says, “my approach is to present options for care and treatment and let the patients be actively involved in their health care decision making.”

A native Oregonian, Dr. Brown grew up on a farm in Silverton. He enjoys sports, hiking, theater, books and spending time with his wife, Rachel, who is a musician.

Dr. Dolin

Leigh Dolin, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

Dr. Dolin is an open-minded, caring physician who believes his most important job is to “be there” for his patients. “I enjoy an open, honest relationship with my patients,” he says. “We trust each other, are honest with each other, and work together as partners to promote health and deal with illness.” Dr. Dolin takes an individualized approach to care, based on the needs and desires of each patient.

Dr. Dolin holds an undergraduate degree in Russian from Columbia College in New York City. He completed his medical training at the Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, New York. He began his residency training at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn and completed it at Tucson Medical Center in Arizona. He is board certified in internal medicine.

Dr. Dolin is a past president and current legislative chairman of the Oregon Medical Association. He and his wife have two children.

Dr. Gillcrist

Amy Gillcrist, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

When asked to describe her philosophy of care, Dr. Gillcrist exclaims simply, “Prevention!”  She encourages her patients to take charge of their health through exercise, a healthful diet and symptom control, such as maintaining normal blood pressure and blood sugar.  She sees herself as a source of education, information and support for her patients.

Dr. Gillcrist became a primary care physician because of the opportunities to build relationships with her patients, aiding them both in sickness and in the pursuit of optimum health.  She earned her medical degree at Oregon Health Sciences University, and completed her internship and residency at Providence Portland Medical Center.

A native Portlander, Dr. Gillcrist is very active in her spare time. She enjoys running, weight lifting, swimming, golf, gardening and reading.

Dr. Le

Khoi Ha Le, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

In his practice, Dr. Le wants his patients to feel well cared for. “I understand what a patient goes through when he or she is ill,” he says. “That’s why I take care of my patients the way I want to be taken care of when I don’t feel well.”

Dr. Le majored in mathematics and received his medical degree from the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He completed his internship and residency at Legacy Emanuel and Good Samaritan Hospitals in Portland.

Born in Saigon, Dr. Le speaks fluent Vietnamese. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing chess and gardening.

Jean Nash, F.N.P.

Jean Nash, F.N.P.

Board Certified: Family Medicine

As a family nurse practitioner, Jean Nash works with patients to educate them about their health issues and meet their health care needs. “I enjoy building trusting relationships with our patients and empowering them to make healthy choices,” says Jean. “Nursing is a calling for me, and I feel honored to minister to my patients.”

Jean graduated from the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in 1979 and worked asa registered nurse for several years before going back to school. She completed her master’s degree in nursing and her certification as a family nurse practitioner at Oregon Health Sciences University in 1996.

Jean grew up in the Seattle area and has lived in Portland most of her life. She and her husband have three sons and three grandchildren. In her spare time,Jean enjoys sewing, decorating, camping and traveling.

Dr. Rawlinson

Janet Rawlinson, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

Dr. Rawlinson sees her patients as partners in their own care. “We all have responsibility for our own health,” she says. “A physician can work with patients to help them maintain and enhance their health.” She enjoys talking to her patients and helping solve problems.

In addition to her general interest in internal medicine, Dr. Rawlinson has special clinical interest in women’s health and depression.

A native of Portland, Dr. Rawlinson earned her undergraduate degree in anthropology at Sonoma State University in California. She completed her medical degree at George Washington University Medical School in Washington, D.C. Dr. Rawlinson completed an internship, residency and fellowship at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. She is board certified in internal medicine.

Dr. Reay

Caroline Reay, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

“My goal is to be a friend and ally in the medical world for my patients,” says Dr. Reay. “I want them to feel that this is a safe place to come and ask questions, and that I’ll help them navigate the complex world of health care.”

Dr. Reay holds a bachelor’s degree in human physiology from Mills College in the San Francisco Bay Area. She attended medical school at George Washington School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and completed both her internship and residency at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. She is board certified in internal medicine. In her practice, Dr. Reay emphasizes prevention and moderation,and recommends both traditional and complementary therapies.

Dr. Reay and her husband have two daughters. In her free time, Dr. Reay enjoys cooking, ballet, architecture, gardening and exercise.

Dr. Skinner

Martin Skinner, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

Asked why he became a primary care provider, Dr. Skinner says it offered “the most opportunity for developing close patient-physician relationships.” His interaction with patients is the most rewarding aspect of his work, he says. “I enjoy helping people improve their health and their lives.”

After earning his medical degree at the University of Rochester in New York,Dr. Skinner completed an internship in internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Health Center Hospitals in Pennsylvania; a residency at the University of Pittsburgh and Tufts University New England Medical Center in Boston, Mass.;and a fellowship in infectious diseases at Tufts. He received additional training in epidemiology at the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, Ga. He is board certified in internal medicine.

In his free time, Dr. Skinner enjoys birding, fishing, hiking, woodworking and meditation.
