Todd Gillingham, M.D.
Board Certified: Family Practice
Dr. Gillingham is a believer in preventive care. “So many things are either preventable or best treated if caught early,” he says. His goal is to be available for his patients. “I hope to be a resource for questions and concerns, whether a patient is well or sick.”
Dr. Gillingham earned his medical degree at the University of Oklahoma. He completed his internship and residency in family practice at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Before joining Providence Medical Group, he practiced emergency medicine for two years. He is board certified in family practice.
In the office, Dr. Gillingham invites his patients to bring their sense of humor, as well as their medications. He enjoys getting to know his patients and working with them as a team for their well-being.
Outside of the office, Dr. Gillingham enjoys spending time with his two daughters and his wife, Melanie, who has a Ph.D. in nutrition.
Kim Heydon, M.D.
Board Certified: Family Practice
Dr. Heydon considers her most important role as a physician to be one “of educating and encouraging patients to make wise lifestyle decisions while taking an active role in their health care needs,” adding that she places great importance on the relationship between the patient and primary care physician.
As a physician, Dr. Heydon emphasizes a collaborative approach, saying, “I know from experience that the best combination is the patient taking responsibility for their health and me helping in any way I can.” She chose family medicine because it embraces “all aspects of the life cycle and can include a holistic approach that recognizes culture, race, family and religion as part of a person’s health.”
Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Heydon earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School. She completed her internship and residency at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minn.
Carmen Kendall, M.D.
Board Certified: Family Practice and Surgery
Dr. Kendall enjoys practicing family medicine because of the wide variety of patients she treats. Also, she likes the emphasis on the role of family and prevention in good health. “Family practice is stimulating and always interesting,” she says. “It allows me to see patients of all ages.”
A board certified family practitioner, Dr. Kendall believes her patients make the best providers. “My job is to help people take good care of themselves; not to dictate how things will be. I emphasize with my patients that they are their own best advocate for good health.”
Dr. Kendall earned her medical degree at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Okla. Her favorite activity away from her medical practice is spending time with her husband and two children. Dr. Kendall also speaks Spanish.
John Najera, M.D.
Board Certified: Family Medicine
As a physician, Dr. Najera feels it is vital that he educate his patients about their health and medical treatment. “An important goal for me is to make sure my patients understand what is going well – and what is not going well – with their health,” he says. “I want my patients to be knowledgeable and active participants when it comes to their health care decisions.”
Dr. Najera, who is board certified in family medicine, earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine in Los Angeles. He completed both his internship and residency in family medicine at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Away from his medical practice, Dr. Najera enjoys traveling and hiking. He also has a passion for books and music. Dr. Najera is also fluent in Spanish.
Kelly Oh, M.D.
Board Certified: Family Practice, Surgery
Dr. Oh’s philosophy of care is centered on empowering patients to make informed decisions about their health care. “I encourage my patients to take an active role in their medical care,” she says. “I believe my most important role is to be an educator and to help guide my patients in making health care decisions. .”
A board-certified family physician , Dr. Oh earned her medical degree from Case-Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. She completed her residency in family medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland.
Born in Korea, Dr. Oh spent most of her childhood in Baltimore, MD. Away from her medical practice, she enjoys running, rock climbing and windsurfing with her husband. Dr. Oh speaks two foreign languages, Korean and Spanish.
