Dr. Garcia

Gregory Garcia, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine, Geriatrics

Dr. Garcia chose to become a physician because he loves the interaction with his patients and the sense of satisfaction he gets from helping them cope with their illness. “As a doctor, I believe my most important role is to be the leader in the overall health of the individual while being compassionate to their needs.”

After earning his medical degree from the University of St. Tomas in Manila, Philippines, Dr. Garcia completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, Ill. He is board certified in both internal and geriatric medicine.

Dr. Gasow

Shelly Gasow, M.D.

Board Certified: Family Medicine

“My most important role is to help synthesize information and provide the best medical care for my patients” says Shelly Gasow, M.D. Dr. Gasow especially enjoys being able to care for entire families. “Having relationships with grandparents down to infants is such an honor,” she says.

Dr. Gasow earned her undergraduate and medical degree at the University of Minnesota. She completed her internship and residency at Ventura County Medical Center, Ventura, Calif. Hailing from Minnesota, Dr. Gasow enjoys skiing, bicycling (road and mountain) and photography and is working to learn French. She served as a volunteer for the Peace Corps in Morocco, and worked for Doctors without Borders in China.

Dr. Grainger

Kevin Grainger, M.D.

Board Certified: Family Medicine with Obstetrics

Dr. Grainger chose to practice family medicine because it allows him the opportunity to provide initial, continuing and comprehensive care for patients. “I enjoy working together with my patients to develop an individualized treatment plan that facilitates optimal health and mental well-being,” he says. Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Grainger earned his medical degree at the SABA University School of Medicine in the Netherlands Antilles. He also provides obstetrical and women’s health care, having completed a fellowship in obstetrics from the University of Washington, Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. Dr. Grainger and his wife have two children – a son and a daughter who are twins. Away from medicine, he enjoys playing tennis, going on hikes and traveling.

Brent Hoffman, D.O

Board Certified: Family Medicine

Dr. Brent Hoffman decided to become a physician because he wanted the opportunity to improve the quality of people’s lives.

Brent Hoffman received his undergraduate degree in geology at the University of Michigan and earned his medical degree at the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Mo. He completed his internship and residency at Botsford General Hospital in Detroit.

In his free time, Dr. Hoffman enjoys skiing, backpacking, playing the guitar and reading.


Dr. Horacek

Jeff Horacek, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

Dr. Horacek chose to specialize in internal medicine and primary care because he enjoys meeting and caring for people. “I’m just a small-town guy at heart,” he says. “I grew up in a community where everyone cared for and respected each other—that has stuck with me and is a big influence on how I care for my patients.”

Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Horacek earned his medical degree at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City, Okla. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Providence Portland Medical Center.

Dr. Horacek is married and has two daughters. Away from his medical practice, he enjoys running, cycling and winter sports. He also loves traveling and meeting people from other countries.

Dr. Lubkin

Tanya Lubkin, D.O.

Board Certified: Family Medicine w/ Obstetrics

Dr. Lubkin considers her most important role as a physician is that of teacher. “I like to help others choose the right direction for a healthy and happy life,” she says. “I get a great sense of satisfaction in making a difference in the lives of my patients.”

After graduating from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md., Dr. Lubkin earned her degree in osteopathic medicine at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Mo. She completed her residency in family medicine at Providence Milwaukie Hospital.

Dr. Lubkin’s practice philosophy focuses on finding ways that allow the body to best heal itself, “be it through medicine, fitness, or a mind-body-spirit connection.”

Originally from the East Coast, Dr. Lubkin moved to the Pacific Northwest with her husband. In her off time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, hiking and traveling.

Dr. McFarlane

Mhairi McFarlane, M.D.

Board Certified: Family Medicine

In her practice, she emphasizes preventive care and patient education. She believes listening to patients is one of her most important roles as a physician and that every patient should be actively involved in his or her health care decisions.

Dr. McFarlane earned her medical degree from the University of Glasgow in her native city of Glasgow, Scotland. She completed her residency at Oregon Health & Science University.

Outside of the office, she enjoys cooking and loves playing with her two sons.

Dr. Alice Nayak

Alice Nayak, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

Dr. Nayak likes to emphasize the importance of the physician – patient relationship in her medical practice. "I feel that knowing your patient well helps facilitate quality health care," she says. "The more I know about my patients, the better I can assist them in making health care decisions."

Dr. Nayak earned her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Oregon Health & Science University.

Dr. Nayak is married to fellow clinic physician Navin Nayak, M.D., and together they have a son and a daughter. Away from her practice, she enjoys cooking, yoga and doing crafts with her kids.

Dr. Navin Nayak

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

By keeping himself current on the latest medical information, Dr. Nayak feels he is able to help his patients make the best health care decisions. "A well-informed physician can better help patients understand their treatment options and the benefits and potential harms of each," he says.

Dr. Nayak earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at Oregon Health & Science University. He has a special interest in chronic illness management.

Dr. Nayak is married to fellow clinic physician Alice Nayak, M.D. Away from his medical practice, he enjoys swimming, chess, cooking and spending time with his wife and two children.

Dr. Pape

Gary Pape, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

Dr. Pape is board certified in internal medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree in science at Oregon State University and his medical degree at Oregon Health Sciences University. He completed both his internal medicine residency and internship at Providence Portland Medical Center.

Dr. Pape enjoys developing long-term relationships with his patients as he works with them to coordinate their care and resolve their health issues. He emphasizes listening to and being available for his patients. “I realize that my patients’ time is as valuable as mine,” he says.

In his free time, Dr. Pape enjoys fishing, lifting weights and playing basketball.

Dr. Robinson

Mindi Robinson, M.D.

Board Certified: Family Medicine w/ Obstetrics

Dr. Robinson feels it’s vital that her patients take part in their treatment. “I believe that the most successful health care occurs when patients are actively involved,” she says. “It is important that, together, we find care options that fit their individual personalities and circumstances.”

After earning her medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University, Dr. Robinson completed her residency at Waukesha Family Practice Residency Program in Waukesha, Wis., where she also served as associate chief resident. Dr. Robinson provides a full range of family medicine that includes obstetric, pediatric, adolescent and adult care.

Dr. Robinson grew up on a dairy farm in Idaho with a large, fun extended family. Away from her medical practice, she enjoys gardening, literature and listening to live music.

Dr. Skavaril

James Skavaril, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

As a physician, Dr. Skavaril feels his most important role is to provide support to his patients in times of need while offering assistance with their health care decisions. “I enjoy a comprehensive approach to care that includes treatment tailored to the individual’s needs,” he says. “I also feel it’s important to provide them with information so they can be actively involved in their health care decisions.”

Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Skavaril earned his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Providence Portland Medical Center.

Away from his practice, Dr. Skavaril, who is a native Oregonian, enjoys playing tennis or spending time outdoors with his wife, Nancy. His hobbies include golf and working on classic cars.

Dr. Yamase

Melvin Yamase, M.D.

Board Certified: Internal Medicine

Dr. Yamase is a graduate of Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington. He earned his medical degree at the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu, and completed his residency at Providence Portland Medical Center. He is board certified in internal medicine.

As a primary care physician, Dr. Yamase enjoys dealing with the health care needs of the whole person. “There is such great interplay between the social, psychological, physical and spiritual aspects of a person’s health,” he says. “I believe, to provide optimal care, a physician needs to address all of these areas.” Dr. Yamase encourages his patients to get involved in their own medical care, as well, by asking questions and discussing treatment options.

Dr. Yamase’s greatest joy is his family. He also enjoys hiking, gardening, and church activities.
