At Providence Dermatologic Surgery, we specialize in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, a precise treatment method for removing skin cancer. This surgery has the highest cure rate of all treatments – up to 99 percent – for basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas, even when other treatment methods have failed.
We offer patients compassionate, personalized care from board-certified physicians who have completed accredited fellowships in Mohs Micrographic Surgery.
Located just one block from Providence Portland Medical Center, our clinic provides a welcoming environment for patients and is the only dermatologic surgery clinic in east Portland with a primary focus on Mohs Micrographic Surgery as offered by fellowship-trained surgeons.
Dr. Allen appreciates the long-term relationships she establishes with her patients. “I learn something from my patients every day, whether it’s a new recipe, a local event, or how to be a better physician,” she says. She describes her philosophy of care as being a team approach, noting, “The patient needs to feel comfortable and understand the diagnosis and how we’ll fix it together.”
Dr. Allen is a board-certified dermatologist who earned her medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. She completed her dermatology residency and her fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery at Saint Louis University in Missouri, the fellowship accredited by the American College of Mohs Surgery.
Having grown up on a farm outside of Lawrence, Kan., Dr. Allen is an avid outdoorswoman and animal lover. Away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Andrew, exploring Portland.
