Providence Portland Medical Foundation Funding Priorities

Our community of donors — literally thousands of individuals, corporations and foundations — fund leading-edge research and technology, and also help us serve those less fortunate. Your gifts contribute to Providence Portland Medical Center’s high level of excellence. Although these funding priorities have sizable goals, please remember that all donations, large and small, make a difference. Your gift demonstrates your belief in our work.

For more detailed cases for support, please contact Providence Portland Medical Foundation by e-mail or call 503-215-6186.

Providence Cancer Center
$3 million needed to reach $40 million goal

Providence Portland Medical Foundation is completing a $40 million capital campaign for the new cancer center. Gifts to the campaign cover capital costs, research and patient services. A number of naming opportunities are still available within Providence Cancer Center.

Providence Cancer Center Cafe
Fund raising is just beginning for this $ 1million goal

Philanthropic dollars are needed to construct and open the cafe inside the Providence Cancer Center. Patients’ families need a convenient, nourishing place during this difficult time in their lives.

Cancer Research
Annual goal of $1.5 million

Funding supports the ongoing work at the Robert W. Franz Cancer Research Center in the Earle A. Chiles Research Institute at Providence Cancer Center. This includes patient-based research to develop innovative treatments which use the power of the body’s own immune system.

Cancer Support Services
$250,000 goal for 2009

Contributions enhance patient care, research and staff education. They also allow us to provide many supportive services to patients at no charge, including assistance from breast- and lung-cancer patient advocates. Financial counseling is also available for patients and their families.

Providence Center for Advanced Heart Disease
$250,000 goal for 2009

Donations provide financial support for this program at Providence Heart and Vascular Institute. The program offers a comprehensive range of medical and surgical treatments, including transplantation, to patients who are diagnosed with heart failure.

Brain Treatment
$200,000 for 2009

Donations allow Providence Brain Institute to find innovative ways to treat stroke, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy, ALS and more.

Providence Gately Academy

Gately Youth Services sponsors this private middle school for students who have ADD/HD or learning disabilities. Funds raised pay for scholarships and program costs.
