Guild makes $1 million pledge
The Providence St. Vincent Guild Board of Directors made a $1 million pledge from its fund-raising proceeds toward two important hospital projects. Of the pledge, $500,000 will go toward the Providence St. Vincent Medical Foundation's commitment for the expansion of the atrial fibrillation clinic and the cardiac rehab clinic at the hospital, and $500,000 will be directed toward the remodeling of the Providence St. Vincent neonatal intensive care unit.
Tenth Time at the Top: Providence St. Vincent Medical Center Named One of the Nation’s “100 Top” Hospitals.
Providence St. Vincent is the only Oregon hospital to make the list of “Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals.” This is the 10th time Providence St. Vincent has been included on this prestigious national listing. In addition, this year Thomson Reuters also recognized members of the “100 Top” list that displayed consistent improvement at the fastest rate during a five-year period. There were only 23 hospitals nationally - including Providence St. Vincent - that received this additional recognition.

World's most advanced MRI coming to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center
The world's most advanced MRI will be coming in 2009 to Providence Brain Institute at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. The intraoperative MRI will allow a fusion of real-time imaging with brain surgery, enhancing the ability to safely and completely remove brain tumors in deep areas of the brain.
Oregon Medical Laser Center receives major grant
The Oregon Medical Laser Center (OMLC) received a $1.5 million grant in April 2008 from the U.S. Army to participate in a national research collaborative aimed at helping wounded soldiers.
