Resident salaries throughout Providence Health System in Oregon are identical and competitive with other residency programs in Portland.

Salaries for 2008-2009 Residents: 
PGY-1 $45,750
PGY-2 $48,000
PGY-3 $50,000

Insurance* (provided in addition to salary):  
Medical, dental and vision insurance for resident and family
Long-term disability insurance 
Professional Liability insurance (malpractice policy of $5 million/occurrence; covers all activities within the scope of the residency) 
Group life and AD&D Insurance
Workers’ compensation insurance provided 
*Multiple options available; benefit plans offered to same-gender domestic partners and their children
 
Time Off Policies:  
Paid vacation (3 weeks PGY-1 & PGY-2 year; 4 weeks PGY-3 year) 
Paid Sick leave (12 days)
Medical, family or parental leave as per Federal Family Medical Leave Act, Oregon Medical Leave Act and American Board of Internal Medicine guidelines
Professional leave available in PGY-2 & PGY-3 years
Fellowship or job search leave available in either PGY-2 or PGY-3 year
