Providence Portland focuses on providing our residents with the depth and breadth of experiences that will build a foundation for success, for both the present and the future. Our planning process is rigorous, attracts active resident input and allows our residency to continually evolve to meet the needs of our residents.
Turning good ideas into educational reality is a core value of the Providence Portland Residency. In the past year, residents have led the development of a new ICU coverage plan, creating a hospitalist advanced focus, and expanding the ward teaching services. From using simulations as part of intern orientation to intranet-based ambulatory education, residents and faculty work together to continuously evolve the curriculum.
Learning about change allows the residency to continually improve. Learning how to facilitate change gives the residents important skills they will take out into their careers.
