Jason Stone, M.D., is a board certified psychiatrist with a special interest in eating disorders. He grew up in Northern California, and completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Berkeley. He attended medical school and received his residency training from the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Stone is a member of the Academy of Eating Disorders and joined the Providence St. Vincent Eating Disorders Program in February 2007. Barb Oyler, M.N., is a psychiatric nurse practitioner who has worked in the field of eating disorder treatment for several decades, and leads the clinical team at Providence St. Vincent eating disorders program. She completed her undergraduate education in nursing at Indiana University and obtained a master’s degree in nursing from Oregon Health and Science University. She has completed three years of post-graduate training in systemic family therapy approaches and also works as adjunct faculty supervising the clinical work of graduate students in the psychiatric nursing clinical practicum at Washington State University, Vancouver. Sarah Alexander, M.S.W., is a primary therapist in the eating disorder program. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and women’s studies from the University of Virginia, and earned a master’s degree in social work from Portland State University. Sarah has worked as a mental health therapist with a focus on women’s issues since 2001, first in the field of addictions, then in a university setting and joined the staff of the eating disorders program in 2006. Kassie Winder Hughes, M.A., is a primary therapist in the eating disorder program. Kassie received her Master of Arts degree in counseling psychology from Pacific University and is a licensed professional counselor in Oregon. Kassie has experience treating individuals with mood disorder, anxiety disorders, including obsessive-compulsive and posttraumatic stress disorder, utilizing an integrated approach in her work. Elaine Lamb, L.P.C., is a primary therapist in our program. She received her bachelor’s of human studies from Marylhurst University and her master’s of counselor education degree from Portland State University. During the past 12 years, Elaine has worked in the areas of addiction treatment, access triage, mental health crisis services and employee assistance. Elaine has been a member of the eating disorders team for the past five years. Brent Moore, L.P.C., is a primary therapist in the program and has worked with the eating disorders program since 2001. He earned a master’s degree in counseling psychology with an emphasis in addictions from Lewis and Clark College and obtained his undergraduate degree from Santa Clara University. Brent worked in the field of addictions prior to joining the staff of the eating disorders program. Amy Sloper, M.A., is a primary as well as a group therapist. She earned an undergraduate degree from University of Colorado, Boulder in English and Spanish. Amy earned her master’s degree in counseling psychology from Lewis and Clark College. Amy has experience working with children and families with histories of trauma and familial conflict. Donna Thomas, R.D., is a licensed dietitian who completed her degree in Food and Nutrition at the University of Idaho. She completed a dietetic internship at Oregon Health and Science University. Prior to joining the eating disorder program in 2004, Donna worked with eating disorders patients in an outpatient setting at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. In addition to eating disorder expertise, Donna is also certified to treat diabetic patients. Chip Sudbeck, M.S., is the patient care coordinator. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from California State University at San Bernadino. For the past 15 years, Chip has worked with children, adolescents and their families in psychiatric settings. Currently, Chip works with the patients’ payers to ensure the cost of their care is covered to the fullest extent possible. Paul Rakoczy, M.S.W., is a group therapist in the eating disorder program. He received his bachelor’s in social work from Eastern Michigan University and his master’s from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Paul worked for many years as a wilderness therapist treating adolescents for chemical dependency, mental health issues and to a lesser degree, eating disorders. Paul is also a licensed clinical social worker and certified alcohol and drug counselor in Oregon. Diane Moore, L.P.C., earned a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the School of Psychology, Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. She has worked as a group therapist in the eating disorder program at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center for six years. Diane graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in psychology and criminology. Diane has worked with patients with a wide array of psychiatric issues and also participates in the training of graduate counseling students at George Fox University.
