Scott Schroeder, MA, CCC-SLP
Pediatric Rehabilitation Manager

Training:  Scott received his bachelors degree from Portland State University, Portland, Oregon and is a Master’s graduate of the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, South Dakota.

Special Interests:  When his is not in the clinic, Scott prefers to be outside playing tennis, golfing, and hiking.  He enjoys traveling with his wife and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Patricia Pieper, Au.D., Audiology
PNCC Supervisor

"Pediatric audiology encompasses assessing the hearing of newborns, infants, toddlers, and school age children.  It's very fulfilling to diagnose hearing problems, counsel parents and offer habilitation recommendations for the families.”

Training: After she received her undergraduate and master’s degrees from Arizona State, Patti went on to receive her Doctorate of Audiology at Arizona School of Health Sciences.  She specializes in pediatrics, auditory processing disorders and ototoxicity monitoring.
 
Special interests: Patti moved to the Portland area from northern Arizona and enjoys backpacking, mountaineering, running and snowboarding.

Johnson, O.T.R/L, Occupational Therapy
PNCC East Lead

"Children always make me smile, and I like the mutual benefit to building relationships with children that in turn help them acquire the skills needed to play and interact in their everyday life.”

Training: Joan attended Eastern Washington University in Spokane, Washington, and is currently attending Portland State University in the Public Administration HealthCare Administration Program.  Interested in helping under-represented and rural populations, Joan has worked in early intervention, public schools, as well as inpatient and outpatient pediatric settings. She is certified with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and also has Educational Staff Associate certification.  Joan specializes in work with children with neuromotor, sensory processing and handwriting challenges.

Special interests: In her personal time, Joan enjoys hiking, kickboxing and traveling to see family.

Michelle Kropf, M.O.T., O.T.R/L, Occupational Therapy
PNCC West Lead

“I greatly enjoy working with children as they are so full of life and ready to take on any challenge that comes their way.”

Training: Michelle began her studies at Dominican College in San Rafael, California. An interest in occupational therapy prompted Michelle to transfer to Pacific University, where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in occupational therapy. She specializes in sensory integration, fine motor development, handwriting and sensory feeding.

Special interests: Michelle enjoys gardening, boating and long walks with her dog, Rye Lee.
